Congratulations Mrs. Johnson's 2nd grade poets!! We have 13 students whose poetry was chosen to be published in A Celebration of Poets. Only 50% of entries are invited to be published, we were the majority of that 50%!!! Congrats to the following students: J. Bell, K. Bush, L. Deleon, Z. Estes, A. Green, A. Hale, P. Hopkins, N. Miss E. Schrenker was recently invited to and participated in the People to People's Washington School of World Studies. E. took the "Leadership for Future Professionals" course and received rave reviews for being such an exemplary student in academic assignments, developing ambassadorial skills and citizenship, and in overall participation. The comments on her academic evaluation are outstanding and can be viewed in the school office. CONGRATULATIONS E.!!!
We had several winners in the Bristol Optimist Club's Oratory Contest. Winners were Sarah R. (2nd place), Adam T. (2nd place) and Benjamin F. (3rd place). We are proud of ALL our students who participated!
We also had three FIRST PLACE WINNERS in the city-wide Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest. Winners were Nicholas K. (5th grade), Kathryn H. (6th grade), and Abby H. (7th grade).
Our wonderful school has been chosen as a "Picturing America" award recipient. "Picturing America" introduces citizens of every age to our nation's history and culture by bringing great works of American art into classrooms and libraries. We will receive a free collection of 40 reproductions of American art to display.
