ALUMNI

Dear Alumnus:

Happy New Year! My name is Richard Fenchak and I am the Principal of St. Anne School, your grade school alma mater from many years ago.  How time flies!  Many of you have long been away from the halls of St. Anne School.

As the years have slipped by, many changes have happened at our school.  For example, over the past decade, the building that many of you were so familiar with has changed.  And, just over the past few years, a new building has been added along with a gymnasium (our new parish life center).  The street that used to be alongside the school building on the south side is gone, having been swallowed up by the new construction.  We now have a middle school encompassing grades six, seven, and eight.  Other changes have occurred, as well; teachers have come and gone as have school administrations.  Some of you may remember Mrs. Green, Mrs. Hale, and Sister Susan.  They all served our school well and they have gone on to other things.  Mrs. Dutcher, as many of you will remember as your classroom teacher, now volunteers and is a reading specialist. Mrs. Pat Johnson is our Vice Principal; I’m sure that many of you will remember her.

We are nearing the school’s 60th anniversary which we will celebrate next school year:  1949 to 2009!  Our plans are just getting underway for the festivities to come.  We’ll be sure to keep you posted.

This is my first year here as Principal; we are in the process of revitalizing the school to help make it even better in the future.  An important focus has been on staff and student recognition, for example.

We are presently in the process of selecting our school play for spring.  Titles under consideration are “Suessical the Musical” or “Schoolhouse Rock.”  Just this past fall, we acquired through donation, a portable stage.  This will greatly improve our student drama performances.  With the advent of the middle school and the Parish Life Center has come basketball and indoor soccer teams for our students.

I am enclosing a few pictures of the new facility that was completed in 2006 just so you can see some of the recent changes.  We also have a new website that you can visit:  www.stanne-school.org.  We have an alumni corner where we hope to soon have a place where you can let us know a little about yourself.  Future events call for the formation of an Alumni Association; hopefully you’ll be able to join.

May you enjoy many blessings in the coming New Year!

Sincerely, Richard J. Fenchak, Principal
